Snapshot Of New OLED For Televisions

September 5th, 2010

Panasonic is a brand-name which carries a lot of weight in the LCD HDTV industry. They’re not one of those companies which come and go, they’re solid and have made themselves this way through the production of top quality products and excellent support. They say they will be using OLED technology very soon.

Based on a dramatic turn out in the latest trend of the LCD TV market, it is widely perceived today that OLED, a brand new display technology is all set to vanquish both LCD and Plasma devices even at a swifter rate than the vanquishing of the nostalgic CRT by the duo. At present, the sole problem with the comprehensive OLED devices are their exorbitant price tags.

However, once this is slashed considerably, as is very much expected these days, it should only be a matter of time to the LCD and Plasma devices to call it a day.

Many television market analysers of the present are of the opinion that a steady fall in the price of the OLED devices can be seen in the next few years, before reaching a desirable condition for even the commoner at some point of time.

The time, although may vary according to different analysts, has been more or less fixed as tad before the London Olympics in 2012. It is expected that by then, it will have reached a increasingly mainstream audience.

However, currently the only television available in the market representing the OLED technology is the SonyBravia XEL-1 OLED TV , which is a super slim model from the house of the renowned manufacturer of advanced technological devices. The staggering price of the XE-1that amounts to GBP 3489 is the one negative factor that alienates the device from the list of the commoner. So if you’re looking for a great quality TV you may well want to look this brand up as the lime leight they are getting is not an accident.

Plasma TVs – Have You Considered One?

September 3rd, 2010

Plasma TVs contain big screens like the large CRT sets. Plasma televisions offer lightings to several small sized dots with the help of high energy electronic beams based on the video signals. Almost, all the Plasma televisions consist of pixels in three different colors like red, green and blue. All the three colors are uniformly distributed in the screen. The whole color spectrum is made up of these three colors in various proportions.

The pictures of Plasma TVs are produced by the lighting of fluorescent colors. Three fluorescent lights in three different colors are present in all the pixels. Those colors are red, green and blue. The entire range of colors varies with various intensities of light just like a CRT television set. One of the main components of fluorescent light is the Plasmas.

Plasma gases have electrons and ions without any undisturbed flow. Under normal scenarios, these gases are made by charge less elements. This indicates that the number of protons and electrons are present in equal level in the gas with a perfect balance offering charge less atoms.

Plasma TVs are very thin and provide very clear images. Besides their high cost, these TVs are becoming more and more popular daily. Plasma televisions occupy a very less space. Few people keep the Plasma TVs on a stand; however the best option is to hang them on a wall. To mount a Plasma television, the first step is to analyze its measurements including the length and breadth.

Generally, Plasma TV mountings are carried out in flat level surfaces. The other popular method of mounting Plasma TV is ceiling mount. The life period of Plasma television varies depending on the usage and maintenance. If the Plasma TVs are maintained properly and used perfectly, they can lasts long from 4 to 45 years. One of the most important steps to maintain a Plasma TV is not to use high brightness and contrast levels. To maintain the cooling system of Plasma TVs properly, they have to be placed in a properly ventilated region. The approximate life span of Plasma television is generally 30,000 hours.

Ambient lights are able to increase the functionality of Plasma TV. The angle of viewing is 160 for Plasma TVs. This feature makes the TV viewing simple anywhere from the room. 16:9 is the aspect ratio of Plasmas. The images are produced uniformly and smoothly in Plasma TVs due to the transistor electrode of all the three pixels.

Plasma televisions are offered in various inches such as 37, 40, 42, 46, 50, 60 or 65. The size should be chosen depending on the space availability for installing the unit. The speakers are integrated as a part of Plasma TV only by certain manufacturers. In majority of the cases, the speakers are integrated on the side of the display.

There are various types of Plasma mounts such as tilt wall mounts, flat wall mounts, Plasma TV cards, ceiling mounts, table stands and articulating wall mounts. While purchasing Plasma televisions, a reputed retailer must be chosen. The reviews about the retailer such as his quality and experience in this field should be analyzed properly prior to buying Plasma TVs from them.

Plasma TV Facts

August 27th, 2010

Television has been a part of people’s lives for so many years. Almost every household in the world has had at least one television. The reason why it is considered to be a somewhat essential part of a home is because it provides entertainment, and it also keeps people up-to-date with what’s happening with the rest of the world. Like all forms of technology, television has evolved through the years. Those bulky box-like TV’s are now a thing of the past. Now, plasma televisions have entered the world.

Long ago, it was the cathode-ray tube televisions or the CRT-TV that graced most of people’s living rooms. They were bigger, heavier and came with a rounded, protruded screen. The images were not very clear, the colors dull, and it was not uncommon to find lines running across the screen when one is watching. The screen itself was small and often times, one needs to move closer to be able to clearly see the images on the screen. Increasing the width of the screen proved to be an arduous task. In order to do so, the cathode ray tubes’ length has to be increased which meant an increase in the size of the television itself. Over all, the performance and features of the CRT TV left people wanting more.

Plasma television has revolutionized TV viewing in the last couple of years. Its arrival created such a sensation that it is now one of the television favorites. Crystal clear images in vibrant colors displayed across a vast, flat screen are the features one can thoroughly enjoy with this television. It is slimmer and lightweight, and takes very little room.

The way this TV works is in itself amazing. Here, a video signal stimulates the television to light up thousands of pixels which are minuscule cells with high energy beam of electrons. These pixels contain plasma gas composed of a combination of xenon and neon gas. Plasma is made up of electrically charged particles. When electric current passes over them, plasma gas is stimulated and produces phosphors of colors with varying intensities. There are generally three pixel colors; red, green and blue which are evenly scattered across the flat panel screen.

Plasma TV has a lot of advantages. First, watching movies, news, cartoons is easier. It works with any amount of light plus it provides a wider range of viewing capacity. Older television gives about forty-five degree projection. Here, one gets perfect images even at one-hundred-sixty degrees. Sitting at a far corner from the television will still give superb images. The wide screen and slimmer package of this television have also been widely acclaimed. Its light weight makes it easier for people to mount it on walls and cabinets. Plasma TV’s are also versatile. It can be used as a computer monitor, a television or a video game monitor.

There are, however, drawbacks to this TV set. One of them is the cost. When it was first introduced in the market, the cost was so high that the demand for it swindled dramatically. However, as time wore on, the prices went down. Another is the life-span. These televisions grew a reputation for dying out after several viewing hours. To address this issue, companies improved the design and performance of the television making it one of the most durable in the market.

Due to its popularity, many issues about this TV were brought up as well. People believed that refilling the plasma inside the television will make it work as though it were brand new. Others claimed that deadly radiation is emitted by the television that is hazardous to health. However, all these are not true. UV radiation is emitted by all televisions but how much is what is important. It was found that older TV’s emitted UV radiation about a foot away from the screen. This television however, only emits UV radiation about an inch away. So unless, one watches movies and TV shows with his eyes glued to the screen, then the latter shouldn’t be a problem.

Plasma television has given entertainment a whole new meaning. It gives a life-like appearance to that movie you are watching or the game you are playing. Depending on your budget and personal choice, you can enjoy the benefits that this television has to offer.

Finding the best information about the plasma screen televisions can be overwhelming at times. One of the best places I found online to get the straight facts and a great value deal is either panasonic plasma tv 50 and 1080p plasma tv

Electronics giant Sony has announced that the production of large screen OLED TVs will face a delay this year.

This announcement came across due to fears that mass production of the wafer-thin displays might worsen Sony’s losses at it’s TV division. Sony’s XEL-1, the first OLED TV to be commercially available did make many heads turn because of its ultra-thinness and a contrast ratio of over 1,000,000:1, but reportedly, it had a production yield of less than 60 percent.

The XEL-1 had a whopping price tag of over 3,000 to go with it, which may be the reason for the low production yield. It was expected that Sony would launch it’s 27-inch OLED TVs by the end of this year, but the announcement has pulled the curtains over the 27-inch model, at least for now.

Speculations suggest that Samsung and LG could rush to take Sony’s now empty space in the race for cheaper OLED TVs.

OLED displays do not require backlights, and are known to be ultra-thin and flexible with very high contrast ratios and low power consumption.
