Why Should I Buy Life Insurance?

March 13th, 2010

While many people are well versed in the need for insurance coverage when it comes to their automobiles, homes, and health, the topic of life insurance is considerably less popular. Of course, not many people like to think about their own death, let alone plan for it. As a result, the decision to purchase life insurance is often pushed aside as something to be considered down the road. However, a quick review of what you stand to gain from life insurance might be enough to convince you that today is the day to start giving it some serious though.

Ironically, while other kinds of insurance, such as homeowners and auto, are essentially ways to prepare for accidents that may never happen, life insurance covers the one event that is bound to happen to everybody at some point-death. While life insurance may not comfort your loved ones in the event of your death, it can go a long way towards helping them survive without you.

When a loved one passes away, many problems can quickly arise and most of them usually revolve around money. This can include a family losing an income stream, an inability to meet mortgage payments, the costs of a funeral, and any medical bills and other debts left behind. Life insurance can help you prepare for these problems by allowing you to take financial responsibility now rather than letting these issues eventually become a burden to your family.

Do You Need Life Insurance?

It’s generally accepted that if you are a parent, you and any other income-earning adult in your household should have a life insurance policy. At the very least, the policy should feature life insurance coverage that lasts up until any children in the household complete college.

Another way to determine if you need life insurance is to ask yourself if your death would leave any of your loved ones in financial turmoil. For example, will your family be able to survive without your income? Would you be leaving behind a large amount of debt for your family to inherit? Are your loved ones equipped to pay the costs of your funeral and burial? Life insurance is a way to take care of all of these things and more.

However, life insurance isn’t necessarily all about dealing with your death. Even if you don’t have any children, you can still benefit from a good life insurance policy.

Reasons to Buy Life Insurance

If your current life with your significant other is built around both of your incomes, your sudden death could have drastic and lasting repercussions on his or her financial situation. A life insurance policy can offer income replacement coverage. With income replacement, your surviving loved one can be paid the lost income, allowing them to keep their standard of living. This feature alone offers peace mind to couples and families who would otherwise face significant financial woes after the death of a loved one.

Similar to income replacement, mortgage protection is another way that a life insurance policy can protect your significant other or family after your death. You can purchase a life insurance policy that will pay off any outstanding mortgage costs in the event of your death. Mortgage protection can help you rest assured that your loved ones will always have a place to live, no matter what happens to you.

When a person dies, especially if it’s sudden, the last thing their loved ones should have to deal with are the cost and stress of planning their funeral. Many life insurance policies can cover final expenses, such as the cost of a funeral, hearse, casket, burial, cremation, and more. Final expenses can also help cover related medical bills.

Accumulation

Life insurance can even offer you some help when you’re alive. Life insurance is a good tool for both protection and accumulation which makes it relatively unique among kinds of insurance. Some life insurance policies allow you to cash out the accumulated value which can be very useful in an emergency. Some couples choose to use this accumulated value as an additional source of retirement income, and some families utilize it to pay for a child’s education. Some policies even have investment features to help you accumulate even more.

While thinking about your eventual demise might not be on your list of favorite things to do, deciding on a good life insurance policy can be one of the most important decisions you ever make. By taking the time to learn about life insurance now, you’ll gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing that no matter what may happen to you, your family will always have security.

Car Insurance – What Can Affect Your Premiums?

March 13th, 2010

Anyone who drives a vehicle in the UK needs to have insurance. That’s a simple fact and a legal requirement. But choosing the right insurance isn’t just a matter of picking the cheapest policy; there are a lot of factors that can influence how much you pay. Whether you choose third party, fire and theft or fully comprehensive, the premiums are dictated by a variety of factors. So what can you do to bring your costs down?

Age and gender
Statistics show that young drivers are statistically more likely to have an accident than more experienced drivers. Approximately 90% of driving bans and convictions are issued to young, male drivers, and insurance companies tend to see them as ‘higher risk’ than those who have several years experience of driving. The magic age is 25 – once you’re past that you will find that your insurance premiums drop. After 25, insurance companies consider you to be a safer driver, purely because you have more experience of driving on the road and are less likely to succumb to the temptations of speeding. However, it does work in the opposite direction as well, and as you get close to statutory retirement age, you may find your premiums start to increase. Women drivers are statistically less likely to have accidents because they are considered to be more cautious drivers, travel shorter distances and when they do have an accident, tend to make lower insurance claims than men. As a result, women-only insurance providers offer good deals for female drivers, and can even offer better deals for younger women drivers.

Your driving history will also influence your insurance premiums. Companies reward those who do not make claims on their car insurance through a no-claims discount. The longer you go without making a claim, the more your insurance premiums go down. You can also build up your no-claims bonus and if you switch insurers, there are some providers who will take your no-claims history into account when they quote you. However, a claim could cut your no-claims bonus or even wipe it out altogether, and acquiring penalty points on your license may also affect your premiums adversely.

Other factors
Where you live has a lot to do with how much car insurance you will pay. If you live in an area that has a reputation for being a crime spot, the insurance provider will consider the risk of theft or vandalism damage as high. This will affect your claim. If you live in a rural area or a low-crime neighborhood, your insurance premiums will be lower, particularly if the vehicle is garaged. But if your postcode puts you in a high-risk area, you can make a difference to your premiums by fitting approved alarm systems or vehicle tracking devices.

What kind of car you drive will also affect what kind of insurance you are offered. The more valuable your car is, the more expensive it will be to repair or replace. This obviously sends the premiums up. Smaller cars that have not been modified or are economical are cheaper to insure, and some insurance providers are making special provisions for people choosing eco-friendly cars such as hybrids that have lower carbon emissions or use alternative fuels. Not only are these cheaper to insure, but they’re also cheaper to run and even the road tax is lower.

There are other factors that will affect how much insurance you pay, such as whether you use your car to commute, if you have additional named drivers on your policy and your annual mileage. But if you’re looking to make savings on your insurance, the best idea is to shop around using comparison sites or by talking to your current car insurance provider. You may not be able to do much about where you live or your gender, but by making other small changes you can bring the cost of your car insurance premiums down.

Auto Insurance Arizona: Requirements And Rules

March 13th, 2010

Insurance for motor vehicles is mainly about securing the lives and vehicles of motor car drivers. Without it so many disastrous things could happen like someone being injured and not being able to handle the medical fees. When it comes to insurance requirements all of the states have basically the same principles, just a few differences exist. Auto insurance Arizona is one example of a place with slightly different rules, some of which will be discussed here.

When signing up for insurance you certainly need to provide proof of a driving license. No one can get insurance without it because how then can you prove you can actually drive the vehicle you intend to insure. Therefore upon registration it is imperative that you furnish proof of a driving license that is valid. Failure to do so will not exactly prevent you from getting insured.

In the event of there not being a license it is still possible to be insured. But this only applies if your license has been suspended or revoked. Such revocation or suspension comes about when you drive a car without insurance cover. In this rare and isolated scenario insurers are obliged to contract you on the condition that you provide proof of such a license after concluding the contract of insurance.

Two types of cover are required in Arizona: Bodily Injury and Property Damage. The minimum requirements are $15,000 per person and $30,000 per accident for Bodily Injury and $10,000 per accident for Property Damage. Both of these insurance options avail to you because of the damaging nature of car accidents. These are meant to cover hospital expenses and any other expenses arising from damage to property.

To be more specific bodily injury coverage covers the hospital fees for people involved and hurt in an accident of which you are legally responsible. This means if you too are injured during the accident it does not pay for injuries that you personally sustained. To have your expenses covered for you must have something referred to as medical payments coverage. This way you can get covered for damage to yourself under the same policy.

It is also a requirement that you pay for comprehensive cover. Such cover is completely wholesome in the sense that if at all a third party is injured or suffers loss from an accident that was your fault he too is supposed to be compensated. The person injured should file a claim against your policy and be able to prove that the accident was in actual fact your fault.

Generally there are different ways of reducing the premiums you pay every month or year. Premiums can be lowered by simply adding security features on your car that reduce the risk or possibility of accidents occurring. Emergency braking definitely does this. In addition to this adding an alarm system to the car as well as a tracking device reduces premiums.

But if you have had a few accidents including drunken driving cases you should expect to pay more. Instead register for a defensive driving course, something that will indicate to the insurer that you are not so much of a big risk to insure.

How Much Do You Know About Car Insurance?

March 13th, 2010

When making decisions about automobile insurance, we need to understand the different auto insurance policies and what they cover. We can’t just shop for insurance on the basis of your monthly premium alone. It is critical that we know the answer to questions like:

What Is Comprehensive Car Insurance?
What Is An Auto Insurance Deductible?
What Is Full Coverage Auto Insurance?
What Is Auto Liability Insurance?

Comprehensive automobile insurance is the part of your automobile insurance policy that pays when your car is hit by a falling object, damaged by fire, stolen or vandalized. The cost of a broken window is also covered under the comprehensive section of a personal auto insurance policy. Comprehensive coverage is also called “other than collision” coverage.

The lack of this coverage does not affect what your insurance company will pay to others you might get into an accident with. Therefore it is optional unless your car is leased or has a loan against it. If your auto is leased or financed, the lesser or lender will probably mandate that you maintain comprehensive coverage on your auto.

A car insurance deductible applies to the comprehensive part of your policy and the collision section of your policy. Both of these aspects of your automobile insurance policy are optional. The deductible amounts for each can be different. Your deductible reduces the amount your insurance company will pay to repair or replace your automobile. If you have $3,000 worth of body work done on your car due to a covered accident and have a $500 deductible, your insurance company will pay you $2500.
The higher your deductible is, the lower your premium is likely to be.

Full coverage automobile insurance is a car insurance policy that includes not only the mandatory liability section, but also the optional comprehensive and collision coverage. This coverage are considered physical damage coverage. Chances are you will need to have full coverage if you do not own your auto outright. Your lender or leasing company will likely make you sign a contract that forces you to have full coverage.

One way to pay less for your automobile insurance policy is to increase your deductible on your comprehensive and or collision coverage. This means that you will be more at risk, however on an older automobile, the risk might be manageable and eliminating the physical damage coverage may be a good idea.

Liability insurance for your automobile is the part of your policy that can pay the other driver if you are considered to be at fault for a car crash. This coverage or proof of financial responsibility is mandated in every state of the US. Your deductible never applies to this coverage.

You have to have liability insurance, but the mandatory limits may be inadequate to give you enough coverage if you have an automobile crash that causes a lot of damage. Be sure that you not only understand how liability insurance works but that you also get the right amount.

Understanding how your car insurance policy works is critical if you are going to make the right choices.

Frequently Asked Questions About Secured Credit Cards

March 13th, 2010

As a consumer, it is important that you are well-aware of the facts about the product or services you are planning to acquire. This is also applicable to people who are planning to get a secured credit card. Below are answers to the top ten frequently asked questions about this type of card.

1. What is a secured credit card? It is a type of credit card that requires the submission of cash deposit. The deposit made will often determine your credit limit although some Issuers offer a slightly higher or lower limit than the amount of cash deposited.

2. How do I apply for this type of card? Most banks and credit card issuers have their own version of this type of plastic card. You can personally apply from your local bank or send an application online. Credit unions may also offer secured credit cards for those with bad credit history. As a member of the union, you may be able to get a lower interest rate and lower fees.

3. What fees should you be aware of? Some issuers charge an application fee while others may offer free account activation. All secured credit cards carry annual fees but if you compare your options, you should be able to find one with a reasonable annual fee. Check the fine print. It is a must to understand every fee that is associated with your chosen secured credit card.

4. How much is the security deposit? Generally, the security deposit ranges from $300 to $500. However, if you want a card with a higher credit line, be prepared to submit a higher deposit in your account as well.

5. Can this type of credit card help me get out of bad credit? This will depend on the type of secured card you will get and the way you will handle your account. Some secured cards in the market offer reasonable fees and conditions while others may come with hidden costs and expensive charges. You can use it as tool for rebuilding credit by limiting your monthly expenses. Furthermore, if your chosen card reports your payments to all three major credit bureaus, your credit report can be updated immediately and you can raise your credit score quickly.

6. Will others know that I’m using a credit card for bad credit? No. There is no chance that people will know you have a bad credit history since a secured credit card looks exactly like a regular credit card. That information is only between you and your secured card Issuer.

7. Will my deposit earn interest? This will depend on the Issuer. Some Issuers will place your deposit in a timed deposit account which means it will earn interest. However, before signing up your contract, get to know how long your money has to stay in the deposit account should you want to terminate your secured card. Also, you’ll want to understand whether the interest your money earned will go to your Issuer or your own pockets.

8. Can I get an upgrade to unsecured credit card? Some secured card issuers offer an automatic upgrade for its holders after at least a year of consistent payments. However, if your chosen secured credit card does not offer this provision, you may request for an unsecured credit card after proving your creditworthiness as a credit cardholder.

March 13th, 2010

Forensic Files, 20/20 and American Greed Crime reality television shows cast a negative stigma on life policies. However, in the state of Michigan has a regular mortality rate, demonstrating the need to obtain a Michigan life insurance plan.

Given the staggering numbers of homicide plots, related to buying a life insurance policy, families and individuals, who need a policy, are more prone to neglect having a life contingency plan in place. Consequently, forging a Michigan life insurance plan may financially burden surviving loved ones.

Michigan’s state sponsored Web site features statistics, charting various causes of death. The data illustrates how abruptly life can come to an end, validating the need for an affordable Michigan life insurance plan. In Michigan, heart disease, cancer, strokes and unintentional related deaths account for the leading causes of death.

Despite the fact that these fatality statistics are dated from 2007, over the last decade, heart disease accounts for an annual mortality rate of 24,000 people’s lives. In Michigan, each year, cancer assumes another approximated 20,000 deaths. Strokes average 5,000 deaths, with, septicemia blood poisonings accounting for 900 lives.

There is an average of 3400+ unintentional injury-related deaths each year. These range from drowning, to freak accidents. The state of Michigan has an average of 650 homicides. Given the high number of unforeseen case scenarios, carrying a Michigan life insurance policy appears to be a prudent decision.

Quite often, a family member perishes impetuously, passing on the duress of financial responsibilities and legal matters to surviving heirs to work out. In the interim, a Michigan term life insurance policy eliminates any chaos.

For most poor to middle class families, a Michigan life insurance plan may serve as a mediator, per se. From managing those final financial responsibilities (funeral burial costs, assets, property, probate, medical bills), to leaving heirs an inheritance), many financial planners advise clients to carry a Michigan life insurance policy to save heirs the duress of administering the estate.

Unlike the cases seen on real-life crime shows, a Michigan life insurance policy can ease the stress of mourning a loss riddled with looming legality issues. Not too mention, some Michigan life insurance plans have built in savings to garner a potential return on the policy.

Make Money Online – Keywords Are Fundamental

March 13th, 2010

An essential step which anyone who wants to make money online must take is proper keyword research. This is one of the first abilities which you must become adept at if you want to be successful. Why you ask? Because the vast majority of your customers are going to find your website via the search engines. The search engines are going to return your website to a query based upon its relevance to the keywords used in the query. As a result, it is important that your efforts be concentrated on keywords which are highly relevant to the products or services which you are utilizing your website to promote.

Of course, you need to sell products or services on your website to make money online. Thus, your best strategy is identifying your target market, and offering this market products and services which address their needs. Nonetheless, the target market must be cognizant of the fact that the need is present, and that your products or services provide a capable solution to the need.

Educating the public on their needs, and how your products or services can solve these needs does not require contacting a blanket audience. Rather, you need to focus your marketing efforts on the market segments which are most likely to have a need, and be interested in your products or services to remedy this need. The Internet makes this feat possible via the search engines.

Search engines are essentially the portal for customers who already recognize a need, and are searching for a product or service to fulfill this need. The customer types a keyword or key phrase into the search engine, and then based on the results, will either refine their search, or search the stated listing to find what he or she is seeking. Not surprisingly, the higher a website ranks in the search engine results, the more relevant it is deemed by the search engine for the query. Conventional wisdom also tells us that the higher the website ranks, the more traffic it will receive. Since it is a forgone conclusion that the more traffic you funnel to your sales page, the more sales you are likely to generate, you want your website to show up as high as possible in the search engine results. This can be achieved with successful keyword research.

Needless to say, many people assume that just because a keyword has a high search volume, it is automatically most desirable. Not so fast. The truth is that longer keywords or key phrases, with lower search volumes, often convert at a higher rate than these sought after high volume keywords. This is usually because these longer key phrases are more relevant to your website. You may have heard the term, “long-tailed keyword” before. These long key phrases is what this term is referring to. Moreover, these long-tailed keywords often have far less competition, making it easier for your website to rank higher in the search engines for them.
