Banner Advertising Design Did You Know This?

March 27th, 2010

In this article hopefully there will be some new information in here to improve your response rate. This should improve your banner ad campaigns after doing some testing with a couple of these items in here.

A very effective method is to match the background of the banner to the background of the website the banner is on. Then use the same fonts as the website. This is going to be more effective for textual based content driven websites.

There will be a revolt of the masses (low or no response) if you are off-topic to what the site is talking about using this method. It must be exactly targeted to what the web page is all about.

Having obnoxious blasting colors and animated effects on these kinds of websites will get people’s attention. They will avoid it and overlook it as they will assume it’s an unrelated advertisement to the information that they’re interested in.

Entertainment websites (such as music and video) can be more animated with more vibrant colors, all we need to do is try to fit the content as close as possible of the offer to what the web page is discussing. Directly related is more likely to be successful to the site style and material.

Even though this may seem obvious you will not see it on a lot of banners. This is “Click Here.” This can drastically increase the click through rates, you will see significant increases in some cases.

We need the visitor to act and not just see the ad as a great offer may not get them to really move on it, we have to get them to do something called “call of action.” There are other calls of action and a very powerful one is the word “Free” other good ones, “Get Today” “Immediate Access.”

Flash banners for larger sizes should be considered but your audience must be fairly computer literate. The reason is plugins are needed to be downloaded and installed to work (when I wrote this). After researching your demographics for them You have to ask yourself would that group have it installed? Flash banners have the highest quality animation and look to them.

Let’s delve into some very important aspects here. Can you guess the most effective place for banner advertisements for most sites per area? Would it be the right side? How about the left side? What about the top letter board area? If you guessed the letter board area then you are correct it is more than two times more effective per research.

Question: What is usually the best way to buy advertising for your banner? Through a search engine, website owner, or through an ad company selling or auctioning advertising space? All three are great and here is the run down.

Buying directly from a website owner is usually the best for getting the lowest rates. You can buy prime website real estate at bargain rates for top keywords in most cases. Buying by search engines is going to give you the most sites faster so it is good too. Working with an advertising company is also fantastic as it is very inexpensive and you can cover a lot of sites in a short period of time.

Now here is one of the most powerful methods of all. That is to find the age demographics of that website who is the dominant age group. Design or have designed a banner with a picture of someone in that age group. It is not hard to find these demographics. Photographs of individuals are very interesting to people. Banner Advert

March 20th, 2010

There are various ways that we can obtain advertising for banners and some have different positive aspects over other methods. In this article the various ways that we can obtain banner advertising space is going to be discussed.

The cheapest or least expensive way generally is to buy advertising space directly from a website owner or managing person. Dealing directly with the owner can eliminate any requirement of paying a third party that is involved with the transaction. We can usually get a much better discount by going direct.

Another great aspect of working directly with the owner is we can sometimes negotiate where the banner will go and make some minor adjustments. There is the possibility also of being able to expand the size of the banner as we continue to be a steady customer of theirs purchasing the space month after month.

For the space that we desire we can simply offer more than what they’re getting from the current advertisers that they are working with. Simply outbidding them paying them sometimes 50% or more to keep that space and not get outbid ourselves. We pay in advance and give them at least one month but a contract may be required for a certain amount of months. They may not want to dump their current advertiser because after one month we may bail out on them as our offer does not work there. They are less likely to be afraid of losing an advertiser if they just add your ad to the space and/or they’re using search engine content ads which can be easily replaced.

Another great method to obtain banner space is to buy it from search engines on the content networks. We can place using placement targeting specific websites to have our banners. Using keywords and proper targeting we can focus in on high paying and high converting keywords and advertise on those websites that come up in the organic listings on top of the index.

This is a super powerful method as we can do a lot of websites in a short amount of time when working with search engines inside the control panels. We can change the banners and the sizes per website quickly. We can run keyword targeted websites and put those banners on top of the indexes. This requires a pretty good budget to be able to do this in a massive way but you can start small. You can start out with just one banner at a time and build up. you can start out on a small budget with some search engines which only require anywhere from $5-$25 which is very reasonable to open an account.

Another great method is to work with an advertising agency. What is great is they have a directory of websites that can be looked at and an exact placement can be chosen on the fly where we want to place our banner. We can work with a lot of websites running campaigns quickly.

Going into the advertising agency control panel we can do many websites at one time very easily with this method. We can adjust the size of banners and choose different areas to advertise on on the specific website itself very easily.

It was a great opportunity to be able to bring this information to your attention. More information on banner advertising training with other related information is available on my website. There should be a resource link near this article.

Pay Per Click Banner-Video Available

March 13th, 2010

The pay per click (PPC or CPC) advertising model is very advantageous. We can test a website and see if the audience will respond to our offers. This is important when testing new services and products if we are not 100% sure of our market if they will respond in a positive manner. We only have to pay if someone clicks those banners. Advertising with banners in this fashion does not require a lot of money to get started.

Placing banner advertising is not as easy as it may appear. Advertising prices can overrun what the profit margins are, very quickly, if we do not know how to do this. This is a skill that must be learned. It is not difficult but there is more to it than just placing banners and hoping for the best. This is an incredible field with a high profit margin if done correctly and it is also quick money.

What is great about this is there is no waiting to get indexed by search engines or hope to be seen. The great thing is banner advertising is coming into its own form and is becoming incredibly powerful as much as ranking in the engines. After you build up your money you can do more and make more than ranking in the engines. If you research most affiliate programs say that their highest paid people are usually pay per click advertisers. Organic search engine ranking is powerful but advertising has its advantages.

We still need to do our demographics and research to find out who is visiting the website even if it is only pay if they click. We can get a lot of curiosity clicks with no action responses or sales, if miss targeting. We can find out what interests they have, what their income is likely to be, age, and gender, there are other variables we are going to have to take into consideration.

We also need to analyze landing pages even though we have great banners, we need to be able to “spot look” landing pages. Even though were getting clicks we cannot send them to a second rate landing page.

Also, testing of different landing pages is incredibly important. Even if we are an affiliate and are only given one landing page we really need to try to test various other landing pages, if the offer looks very good. There are a lot of choices out there and may decide just to move on. Working with the affiliate managers and companies can allow us to either build another landing page and get their approval, or wait and have them build another landing page if they can or will do it.

A key to success is to be able to do a quick spot of landing pages and offers. When your skill level increases you will be able to do a quick analysis of a good landing page, good banner to advertise with that matches a website. To be able to match the demographics with other product features, including seeing the payout versus the customer’s action that is required.

Doing the research is going to go very fast as your skills improve. You will be able to do quick checks of the markets, and sites, and match up offers in a speedy fashion. There will be little money wasted on being in the wrong markets after training and you have built your skills up to a professional level.

Soon you will get a “touch” or you could say a “feel” for this. As you will spot banners from good offers that look weak. You can then contact the company or the affiliate manager and they will usually make the banners for you. Sometimes you can make the banners or have them made yourself and get their approval. Matching the content of the site with the banner is one of the most important aspects for most cases.

In most cases it is not advantageous to create an opposite looking banner to the website even though it will get attention. Yes, it will get attention but then the visitor will turn away from it. This is a very common mistake with banner advertisements, it is the opposite of the way we may think. Making an outrageous opposite banner in many cases does not work but the background of the banner and the typesetting being similar to what the website has is usually far more successful.

These type of flashing outrageous opposite color banners can work if this site is an entertainment website such as a video sharing site or some other site that is related to the entertainment industry. People are more receptive to these banners as they themselves are entertaining themselves so they do fit the website to a certain extent.

Advanced training is necessary so we must go further in depth which is beyond the scope of this article. People have tried banner advertising without knowing the proper technique, fail and thus spread the word that banner advertising is ineffective. This is simply a mistake as people are making big money doing this. For more details and advanced training see links that are close to this in the author or resource section for links near this article.

Domain Name Protection-Important Measures

March 2nd, 2010

Domain protection is a top priority for your Internet business. Your domain name can be taken from you. This is often called domain hijacking. This is where your domain is stolen through various means, sometimes re-registering, getting into your e-mail, after finding out your e-mail address from your registration, or false identification is used. We will discuss ways to stop this in this article.

There are different reasons why someone would want to hijack your domain name. They can be just hacking with destructive intent. It could also be that your going to get quoted a price from them to get it back. They may assume that it is more costly to go through the legal battles than to just pay them. They are taking a heavy legal risk but it does happen.

The first mode of protection is we need to assure all of our registration data is up-to-date including our e-mails for contact, address, phone number, and owners names. When utilizing an e-mail make for certain you’re using a secure service and a complex password. Avoid using words coming from a dictionary within the the password on account of password guesser tools. Which goes for the registration company where you registered your domain. It’s a good decision to utilize a password memory tool that is fully encrypted rather than a internet browser to save them, so you won’t have to type in these complex passwords

Another very important item that you can do is to lock your domain in your control panel where you registered your domain name. If you do not see a lock in there then you must contact customer service to verify that it is either already locked or needs to be locked by them.

Rules for domain transferring plus more details which are current are controlled by ICANN and you can find out about the newest information for this about transferring. When someone attempts to bring about a transfer from your name to theirs or fake name you ought to be notified by the company that registered your domain that the attempt is being made. You’re given a few days to respond usually this is going to be by e-mail.

Another point should be to register with a top domain company or hosting service. If you get a low budget, unprofessional service, you might not be notified properly by them that this transfer attempt is being made.

Some of these hijackings are done when people do not update their e-mail address. The key reason why they forget to get this done many times is they switch Internet service providers, and they use the e-mail service that includes the Internet service. Then when they switch companies the former e-mail is no longer valid and they forget to update the address in their domain registration control panels.

If you cannot be contacted, the domain transfer can go through and your permission is not necessarily required at the time this article was written. It is vital that you receive these e-mails, or other notifications by phone or address so you can monitor any transfer attempts.

You can make your WhoIs information private as another security measure. If you wish you still can register your domain as private even after you had purchased it.

You must also make sure that when you are using a wireless network that it is an encrypted network. Criminals tap into these networks to get information. These networks may not be apparent where you’re at, such as a coffee shop, restaurant, or other public place. If you are not sure do not access any of these domain accounts or the e-mail account that is the contact address for your domain. Always run top notch anti-virus and ant-spy-ware programs while working on your accounts.
